Rensen-Driessen Shipbuilding BV has a wide range of inland and seagoing vessel designs.
The organisation has developed the skills required for the tailor-made approach, calculation and engineering of designs. This gives us considerable flexibility in our dealing with customers. The core business of Rensen-Driessen Shipbuilding BV is the design, build and delivery of all conceivable types of vessels and floating equipment. The list below gives an impression of the most common projects we have handled:
- Mineral tankers
- Stainless steel tankers
- Chemical tankers
- Bunker tankers
- Gas tankers
- Motor freighters
- Motor container carriers
- Oil tankers (food oils)
- Push barges
- Low-profile coasters
- Passenger ships
- Pontoons (off-shore)
The inland vessel market requires many different vessel dimensions and design specifications. These range from small low-profile coasters to major bunker tankers and container carriers. Wherever possible, the most important criteria are incorporate into the design, such as air draft empty, load capacity, speed, stability etc. And the increasingly strict Classification and Dutch Shipping Inspectorate Regulations as well as the stability regulations are just as important.
Taking these important design requirements into account, Rensen-Driessen Shipbuilding BV has the extensive expertise and experience to provide you quickly and efficiently with various vessel designs. Being innovative designers of new projects, we introduced the "Schelde" construction into our inland tanker designs.
In cooperation with Schelde Naval Shipbuilding, at Flushing (the Netherlands), the company carried out detailed calculations to obtain an approved design for a vessel’s loading tanks and foolproof sideskin. These loading tanks are extremely suitable for large bunker tankers. Their dimensions allow a reduction in the number of loading tanks and consequently of the various quantities of fittings. The main advantages of the Schelde skin construction are:
- Increased loading tank volume (760m³ instead of 380m3).
- Increased tanker shipping safety
- Less investment in pumps and fittings
- Less completion-build costs.
The Schelde skin construction was taken into account for the following designs: Atlantic Progress, Progress Schelde and Thalys Schelde.
Rensen-Driessen Shipbuilding BV therefore has the extensive expertise and experience to develop and build various vessel designs quickly and efficiently. And if you prefer any existing design, it is the right partner for you too.
